Woman Jumps into River After Boston Train Catches Fire, Lives to Tell the Tale

After a Boston train catches fire, a woman jumps into the river and survives to tell the tale.

On Thursday morning, a train in Boston caught fire. When the incident happened at the bridge crossing the Mystic River in Massachusetts, the orange line train was hauling 200 passengers.

A woman who became frightened and leaped from the train into the river below was among the terrified passengers. The woman was able to be grabbed by the rescuers and brought to safety. The woman suffered no wounds, according to WCVB.

Aubrey Charles, a passenger, described how they were instructed to walk to the back of the train, where there were ladders for a safe evacuation. However, several individuals started leaping through the broken windows. By the third or fourth automobile, I overheard a woman screaming behind me and thought, “No. Avoid jumping! Then, when we turn to face the river, we see this woman swimming about,” he remarked.
