1 Dead in Burton Motorcycle Crash, Police Investigating

BURTON, Michigan Early on Tuesday afternoon in Burton, a motorbike collision involving two vehicles claimed the life of one individual.

Around one o’clock on Tuesday, July 19, Burton police were called to the Bristol Road and Columbine Avenue intersection in response to reports of a motorcycle accident. When the police came, they discovered a grey Lincoln Mark LT in the intersection and a colourful motorbike lying on the ground.

According to witnesses, the motorbike was moving east on Bristol Road at a high rate of speed. The motorbike struck the Lincoln’s driver’s door as it made a left turn from northbound Columbine Avenue to westbound Bristol Road.

The 57-year-old Clio man who was driving the Lincoln was unharmed. At the scene, the motorcycle’s driver was declared dead. Police recognised him as Burton resident Shawn Price, 27. He didn’t have a helmet on.

Police said that the incident was caused by speed.
