Fort Worth Police Chief Says Crime Is Down Due to Help from Community (1)

Texas’ FORT WORTH — Together, local residents and Fort Worth police officers have been attempting to reduce crime.

According to the chief, the department wouldn’t have been able to reduce crime without the support of the local community. High-crime area pastors came together to promote education as a way to reduce gun violence.

In a Facebook Live broadcast, Dr. Javar Godfrey remarked, “You’re visible; take up space.”

“I’m lovely, and I’m adored. Godfrey responded, “I simply need to be like myself; I don’t need to be like them.

Godfrey is a motivational speaker and educator who made the trip from Florida to Morningside Middle School in Fort Worth to discuss ending violence.
“Triple Threat is the name of the show. According to Godfrey, it represents trauma and thinking triggers.

Approximately 500 youngsters are expected, according to pastor Kyev Tatum. In order to spend that one-on-one time with the kids, it is the intention to provide activities, food, a DJ, and anything else that is engaging.

This middle school has a F grade. These children require instruction. According to Tatum, pastor of Fort Worth’s New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, “We cannot live by allowing gun violence to continue.”

According to Neil Noakes, the chief of police in Fort Worth, the community can change things by banding together.

“Homicides, violent assaults, and other serious crimes are on the down, and the credit for that goes to the individuals working out there,” said Noakes.

According to Noakes, police are making every effort to reduce crime.

More than 750 people have been detained during the past three months, according to Noakes, and 200 weapons have been taken off the streets. Every number represents a person, the son or daughter of someone, according to Noakes. Noakes stated that by posting QR codes all across the city, they want to make it simpler for anyone to provide an anonymous tip.

Instead of attempting to force people to communicate the way we have, Noakes stated, “We’re trying to adjust to the way people want to communicate.” They can’t do it alone in the end, according to Noakes. They can reduce the violence because of the change they are already noticing in the neighbourhood.
