‘The Bear’ Renewed for Season 2 at FX

The sitcom, which launched all eight episodes of its first season on June 23, was renewed just over a month after it began airing. Hulu offers a streaming version of “The Bear.”

FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier stated in a statement confirming the second season order that “‘The Bear’ has exceeded our wildest creative, critical and financial expectations.” “We are eager to start work on Season 2.”

After the sudden passing of his brother, teenage chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (played by Jeremy Allan White) comes home to manage the family sandwich restaurant in the Chicago-based half-hour scripted series. The show centres on Carmy’s struggles to build relationships with his difficult kitchen staff, which includes his sarcastic cousin, and to change the restaurant and himself.

Co-showrunners and executive producers of “The Bear” are Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo.

“We are very appreciative of FX, our really brilliant cast, our crew, who worked so hard and quickly in the middle of winter, and everyone who watched. In addition, Storer and Calo added in a statement, “We can’t wait to welcome you all back to ‘The Bear’ in 2023.

“The Bear” also features Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Matty Matheson in addition to series protagonist White. Along with Storer and Calo, Super Frog’s Hiro Murai and Nate Matteson, as well as Josh Senior, serve as executive producers. FX Productions created the series.

Since “The Bear” made its debut earlier this summer, it has attracted a dedicated audience, helped by positive word-of-mouth. Chief TV writer Caroline Framke praised White’s performance as a “practically vibrating” dramatic core in Variety’s review of the programme, calling it “one of the most tense shows” presently running.
