Nw Portland Business Hires Armed Security Amid Rising Crime

HONOLULU (CSU) – According to Hawaii Island police, a female suspect wanted in an arson investigation has been located. On May 9, about 11:30 p.m., officers were summoned to Ohai Road in Naalehu to investigate the incident.

Before officers arrived, a second structure fire broke out, spreading to an adjacent property, according to investigators. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. After an investigation, Brenda Kekoa was identified as the fire’s perpetrator.

Officials detained Kekoa at a residence in Naalehu on Tuesday and charged him with two counts of first-degree arson. Her bail was set at $20,000. She made her initial appearance at Kona District Court on Wednesday.
