(CSU)The winner of “Survivor 42” has been determined by the jury.
Maryanne Oketch, a 24-year-old seminary student, was proclaimed the winner with seven votes, defeating firefighter Mike Turner and pageant coach Romeo Escobar, who were also in the final three.
Five players were still in the running for the $1 million prize heading into the episode, however Lindsay Dolashewich was voted out in the first tribal council of the finals, and Jonathan Young was eliminated after failing a fire-making challenge.
In the end, Turner received one vote while Escobar received none.
‘Survivor’ Season 42 was won by Maryanne Oketch.
Oketch was candid about wearing her emotions on her sleeve throughout the season, but she ultimately won the jury over after disclosing she’d kept an immunity idol a secret until the very end and laying out how she’d arranged the elimination of one of the season’s key players, Omar Zaheer.
