Reward Offered for Tips on Ocean Beach Hit-And-Run Driver

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Authorities asked for assistance identifying the driver of an SUV that struck a bike earlier this week and then left the scene on Tuesday.

The collision occurred in the 2000 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard in Ocean Beach shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday. The 45-year-old biker was crossing Sunset Cliffs Boulevard in a westbound manner when the northbound motorist hit him and momentarily halted before fleeing the scene, according to police.

The biker was transferred to a local hospital with significant injuries as a consequence of the accident. Police did not reveal his identity.

The car is a white four-door crossover type SUV with silver alloy wheels, according to surveillance photographs supplied by San Diego County Crime Stoppers. According to the agency, the front right corner of the vehicle was likely damaged, and the incomplete plate may begin with “8YN.”
