OAKLAND, Calif. — Authorities say three people were injured in two Oakland shootings that happened less than an hour apart early Saturday, including a man who was shot twice during a robbery in the Pill Hill area.
All of the victims were in good health. According to officials, the incidents do not appear to be connected at this time. The robbery-shooting occurred in the 2900 block of Telegraph Avenue at 3:12 a.m. Saturday.
A 38-year-old guy was approached on the street by several criminals who grabbed his wallet before shooting him in the abdomen and leg, according to police. Before police arrived, the culprits escaped in a vehicle, and the man was brought to the hospital.
A 29-year-old woman and a 49-year-old male were shot around 2:30 a.m. in West Oakland’s Adeline Street and West Grand Avenue area. The two were in a vehicle stopped at a traffic light when another vehicle drew beside them and someone inside started firing at them, according to authorities.
Both the driver and the passenger had arm injuries. The shooting’s motive is still being investigated, and no arrests have been made.
For information leading to the arrests of the culprits, police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in prize money in the double shooting and up to $7,500 in the other incident.
