One Shot, Four Robbed Overnight in New Orleans, Police Say

The New Orleans Police Department stated a guy was shot in the behind near Pritchard Place and Dante Street (map) in Hollygrove at 6:46 p.m. Saturday.

Since Saturday morning, the NOPD has received multiple reports of violent incidents.

A guy was shot on Touro Street early Sunday morning and died after being rushed to the hospital, according to police.

Here’s what we know so far about the other nighttime offences based on preliminary NOPD information:

A man has been abducted in the Central City area.

At 7:13 a.m. on Saturday, a man was abducted in Central City on Poydras Street and South Claiborne Avenue (map).

With a pistol, a guy entered the victim’s automobile, ordered that he drive to numerous locations, forced him to exit his vehicle, and then drove away.

In Algiers, a man’s house was broken into.

In the 1200 block of Shirley Drive (map) in Algiers on Saturday at 3:36 p.m., a woman’s ex-boyfriend stormed into her house armed with a knife, according to police.

The guy intimidated the wife, grabbed the key, and fled the home. A woman was robbed in the Tulane-Gravier area. At 10:25 p.m. on Saturday, a lady was robbed at gunpoint at the South Claiborne Avenue bridge and Gravier Street (map) in Tulane-Gravier. Someone approached her, brandished a revolver at her, and took her pocketbook.

In Holy Cross, a woman was robbed.

Two armed ladies assaulted another lady in the 1200 block of Tupelo Street (map) in Holy Cross at 3:02 a.m. Sunday, assaulting her and stealing her cash and credit cards.

For assistance, the victim dashed to the 5th district station. Police followed her back to her residence, where they detained Brione Cousan, 25, one of the ladies.

In New Orleans East, a woman’s house was broken into.

At 3:02 a.m. Sunday, a guy broke into a residence in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway (map) near Venetian Isles.

According to authorities, the individual used a key to gain entry to the residence while armed with a rifle. He used the pistol to beat a lady in the back of the head before the victim’s boyfriend interfered and forced the guy to drop the weapon. The lady grabbed the rifle and bolted from the residence. The thief who broke in also fled.

In the CBD, a man was robbed.

At 3:42 a.m. on Sunday, a man was robbed in the Central Business District’s 200 block of Camp Street (map). When the guy brought out his money to buy narcotics from another man, the man seized it and hurried away.

In the French Quarter, a woman was robbed. At 4:09 a.m. on Sunday, a lady was robbed in the French Quarter’s 300 block of Bourbon Street (map). As she attempted to push him away, a guy seized the woman’s luggage. The guy hit her in the face, grabbed her bag, and ran away.

There were no more information about the offences available right away.
