The heart-stopping exploits of Teresa Mendoza (played by Alice Braga) ascending from poverty to cartel power player have been a surprise smash for Netflix, with millions across the globe tuning in.
The most recent episodes of the USA Network sitcom were available on Netflix in April, and fans eagerly devoured them. Fans hoping for a sixth season will be disappointed, since those episodes will be the show’s last ones.
These new Queen of the South episodes initially aired on USA in the summer of 2021, just around the time the network announced the show’s cancellation.
The network, cast, and crew have all said why Queen of the South will not be renewed for a sixth season.
