One Killed, Two Hurt in Late-Night Durham Shooting that Follows Other Recent Violence

Three people were shot in southwest Durham just after 1 a.m. One individual was killed early Saturday morning, according to officials. According to the Durham Police Department, two other victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the shooting on Auto Drive, close to the South Square shopping centre on U.S. 15-501, near a nightclub and numerous restaurants. At least six people have been shot in Durham in three separate incidents since Thursday, according to several media outlets. Two of the six were killed in the attack. After an hours-long standoff at an apartment complex in south Durham, police caught a suspect in a double shooting in which one person was killed and another was seriously wounded, according to the News & Observer. According to the N&O, the police responded to a separate incident of shots fired in the same location earlier that day, but it was unconnected to the deadly shooting that happened later.

According to CSU, the third incident was a non-fatal shooting at a Sheetz gas station on N. Duke Street in the middle of the day on Friday.
