4 Killed, 5 Wounded, in Shootings Tuesday in Chicago

In gunshots in Chicago on Tuesday, four people were murdered and five more were injured.

In a shooting in the South Chicago area, a man was murdered and a woman was injured, according to Chicago police. At 2:40 p.m., they were in a vehicle stopped at an intersection in the 3200 block of East 87th Street when another driver drove up beside them and started fire. The 37-year-old guy was hit in the head and died on the spot. The 40-year-old lady was hit in the shoulder but was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in excellent condition.

Three family members, all over 60, were discovered shot to death inside a residence on the Far South Side’s Morgan Park. About 5 p.m., officers found the family members fatally shot inside their house in the 11300 block of South Green Street. Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said Arteria Riley, 81, was wounded in the right side of her skull. In the right torso, Thomas Ann Riley, 64, and Ruben Riley, 61, were shot. A murder investigation was under way by detectives.
In gunfire around the city, four more people were injured.

On Monday in Chicago, three individuals were shot.
