Pittsfield Police Arrest Man in Connection to Shooting Monday

CSU) PITTSFIELD, Mass. – A guy has been detained in connection with a gunshot that occurred at 4:22 p.m. Monday in Pittsifled.

Pittsfield Police were summoned to a location near the junction of King Street and Von Nida Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation at around 4:22 p.m., according to a press release issued to 22News by the Pittsfield Police Department. Shell casings were discovered by officers.

Following the event, two gunshot victims drove themselves to Berkshire Medical Center, according to the investigation. Officers who arrived at Berkshire Medical Center met with a lady who had been shot but was not in danger of dying. The second victim, a guy, was brought to the hospital with potentially fatal gunshot wounds.

Police discovered that a known suspect shot several bullets at the victims, injuring both of them. Pittsfield Police have arrested 27-year-old Laquan Johnson of Pittsfield as a result of their investigation. In the morning, Johnson will be escorted to the Pittsfield District Court for arraignment.
