Man, 20, Arrested After Eggs Thrown at Jewish Synagogue from Car in Edgware

Eggs were thrown from a vehicle towards a Jewish synagogue in Edgware, and a 20-year-old man was apprehended. Eggs were hurled at Jewish worshipers and a synagogue in north-west London, prompting police to launch an investigation.

During a series of anti-Semitic hate crimes in Edgware over two weekends, passengers tossed the eggs from a silver Ford Mondeo. Abuse was also inscribed on a trash can outside a firm owned by a worshipper, according to the Jewish monitor, the Community Security Trust.

No one was critically hurt, according to the detectives, but they were in a lot of pain. Officers are looking for witnesses to events that occurred in the Hale Lane area between March 12 and 18.

A 20-year-old man accused of racially aggravated assault was released on bail pending further investigation. “Several individuals have already come forward to offer statements and evidence of the occurrences,” a Metropolitan Officers spokesperson said, “but police are anxious to hear from anybody else who can help their investigation.”

Anyone with info that might assist police is encouraged to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
