Suspect Killed Following Shooting Near Tramway and Central

On Saturday, a man was shot and killed by police officers who claimed he posed a threat. No policemen were injured, according to police.

Police say they shot dead a guy at Tramway and Central, where the shooting occurred.

Around 5 p.m., police were called to report a guy strolling the streets with a gun, aiming it at people and vehicles.

It’s not clear what the man told 911 personnel when he dialed the emergency number, according to APD.

There was an altercation between many police and this subject, said APD Chief Harold Medina.

When police officers saw him wielding a handgun, “we figured there was some kind of threat,” Medina added.

This occurred in the same neighborhood where police fatally shot a man on Monday after he shot and killed three people.

Monday’s accident was unrelated to the one that occurred the previous day, Medina added.
