A single-car crash at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center has injured a motorist. At Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, a BMW collided with a tree and knocked down a telephone pole on Sunday.

According to a California Highway Patrol incident file, the crash occurred at 3:45 p.m. at 15954 Woods Valley Road. The driver remained in the vehicle after the incident, according to a 911 caller. The BMW was smoking, according to the CHP, and the driver appeared to be hurt, complaining of chest pain.
