Police Investigating After Man Shot and Killed Early Friday in Charleston

A guy was found dead at the scene after being discovered with numerous gunshot wounds early Friday morning in Charleston, South Carolina, according to police.

According to a press release from the Charleston Police Department, Patrick L. Jefferson, 38, of Charleston, was discovered around 1 a.m. in a property in the 100 block of McKee Avenue.

The press statement stated that first responders tried to administer life-saving measures but were unsuccessful. Jefferson was pronounced dead and taken to the hospital for treatment at the scene.

According to the authorities, there are no known suspects at this time.

The front door was slightly open when officers arrived for a welfare check at the property. Nobody answered so they claimed to have found Jefferson unconscious on the floor of the house.
