According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is based on Kate Anderson Browers’s book The Residence: Inside the Private World of the White House and will consist of eight episodes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a new murder mystery based on Kate Anderson Brower’s book “The Residence: Within the Private World of a White House” is in the works.
In addition to his work on the ABC series “Scandal,” which he created, Paul William Davies is also the showrunner and executive producer of the eight-episode drama.
The eight-part series’ official logline is: “132 rooms. There are 157 people to be worried about. There is only one corpse here. Among the most bizarre detectives in the business. The premiere date for “The Residence” has yet to be announced.
