She was diagnosed with diabetes quite lately. Devi has been helping her grandma with her care since she was a child. Her mother, too, is dealing with the loss of her daughter. A few weeks ago, her father died, and she’s been depressed since. Devi’s younger sister is also going through a tough time right now.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lewison revealed that he had goosebumps because he could feel what Ben was about to go through. What happens in the third season will undoubtedly touch on Ben’s ambiguous feelings for Devi and Aneesa and how Devi handles a public connection with a lad who was embarrassed to be with her initially. A third season has been confirmed, so maybe we’ll get to see Ben’s inner pain as he tries to reconcile his feelings for both Devi and Aneesa.
