Woman Arrested in Connection to Tuesday Morning Shooting, Documents Show (1)

On Tuesday, Baton Rouge police say that a woman was arrested because they say she was a part of a shooting that took place. Dinesha Wells, 33, was arrested and charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder. She was then booked into jail.

It was around 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday when officers were called to Stumberg Lane because someone had been shot. A woman told police that Wells shot at her a lot while she was sitting in her car.

Police say the two women were friends.

There were several times when she passed by Wells’ house before pulling into the driveway, documents say. They say she then went outside with a gun because she was tired of the woman going by.

The woman pulled out a gun and started to back away from the complex’s driveway when Wells fired two shots at her, documents say. Her car was hit on the back passenger side.

Investigators found two shell casings and a handgun at the scene, and they said that they were taken away.
