Man Shot Multiple Times on Syracuse’s Valley Drive; in Serious Condition, Police Say (1)

Syracuse, New York (CSU) – According to authorities, a 35-year-old male was shot numerous times on Valley Drive Friday night and is in serious condition.

According to Syracuse police spokesperson Lt. Matthew Malinowski, the shooting occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 800 block of Valley Drive. Malinowski said the victim was shot many times in the bottom portion of his body.

A 911 caller reported hearing three gunshots and seeing a man on the ground, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches. Malinowski said he was transferred to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Officers with flashlights were afterward seen scanning the area. There were two ambulances, a police crime scene investigation van, and about a half-dozen police cruisers parked in the neighborhood. Between Ballantyne Road and Marlett Street, Valley Drive was temporarily closed.
