After crossing the street at Princeton Place, Kassem is said to have struck a person just on the shoulder of the highway. They claim that Kassem came to a halt, but then continued driving away without disclosing the collision to the police.
Hospitalization was necessary for the elderly patient, who was carried there with significant injuries. After a series of operations, he is still on the road to recovery.
When Kassem is sentenced in May, he could face three to 3 years in jail. On his own recognizance, he is presently out of jail.
