BUCYRUS—The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department is looking into a terrible incident involving a missing dog.

According to sources, the inquiry is centered on a 17-year-old Bucyrus High School student who attends Pioneer Career and Technology Center in Shelby.

According to reports, the adolescent struck a little terrier mix dog while driving to school. He allegedly went back and collected the dog from the side of the road and carried it to his house, where he beheaded the dog and put its head on a guard rail with the help of pals. He videotaped the whole thing and shared it on social media.

As a consequence of the outrage, the juvenile suspect was removed from class for his own security from threats.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said the event is being investigated. Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall has reluctant to comment until he has seen the findings in the continuing inquiry. Crawford County Humane Society informed Crawford County that the event had been reported. It is unknown if the suspect struck the dog on purpose.

Depending on how this case is prosecuted, the accused offender might face a fifth-degree felony punishable by up to 12 months in jail.

Crawford County Now does not release kids’ identities until they are charged as adults.
