Dollface Season 2’s Release Date & All TheLatest Updates So Far

Fans of ‘Dollface’ rejoice! Season 2 of the Hulu hit will premiere more than two years after Season 1. Prepare for more feminism and friendship!

Fans of Dollface, rejoice! Your wait is over! Season 2 of the popular Hulu series has been formally announced, and it will be available sooner than some viewers expected. Hulu has renewed Dollface for Season 2, which will air in January 2020. Now, two years later, your favorite friend group is back on television and better than ever.

In this feel-good, feminist comedy, Kat Dennings plays Jules, a woman betrayed by love after her long-term lover rejects her. Following the breakup, she is taken into “the domain of women,” a planet created by her own mind, where she must rebuild the female bonds she neglected throughout her relationship. Kat now enters Season 2 as an officially single woman, and HollywoodLife has the scoop on what will happen, which characters will return, and when fans can binge-watch the new season.

Release Date for ‘Dollface’

Dollface Season 2 premieres on Hulu on February 11, 2022. Binge-watchers will be in luck since all ten episodes of the second season will be available at the same time. Season 2 was set to debut exactly a year after Season 1 in November 2020. The coronavirus outbreak, on the other hand, had a substantial influence on production, as it has on every other TV show in this reality. Season 2 filming has been pushed back to Summer 2021, about a year after it was originally scheduled to begin. Fortunately, production is complete, and there will most likely be no delays until the film’s release on February 11.

The cast of Season 2

Fortunately for Dollface fans, the majority of the main characters from Season 1 will return for Season 2. Naturally, Kat Dennings returns as Jules, as do all of her Season 1 companions, including Madison (Brenda Song), Stella (Shay Mitchell), and Izzy (Esther Povisky).

Brenda has already lauded her character Madison’s growth in Season 1, and fans can expect to see a lot more of it in Season 2. “You see her let down her barriers, but you also realize she’s harboring some secrets, so she’s a little hypocritical in that,” Brenda told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY shortly after Season 1 began. “It’s incredibly cool because all of these characters have such tremendous dynamics, and it’s a lot of fun to kind of play with it on the show.”

Season 2: What to Expect

Jules will be concentrating on sustaining her connections with Madison, Stella, and Izzy in Season 2 now that she has reconnected with them. Season 2 picks up not just after Jules’ separation but also after the outbreak. She also has to deal with the stress of approaching her 30th birthday. Throughout Season 2, the girls will be forced to stick together while coping with obstacles in their careers, love lives, and personal lives.
Hulu released a Season 2 teaser alongside the announcement of the new February 11 release date. The teaser begins with the words “New season, same squad.” The teaser begins with the four girls dressed in 1920s garb, then switches to Stella yelling, “pop that s***,” as Jules sprays a bottle of champagne. Season 2 seems to have some insane moments based on this sneak peek.

Season 2 continues where Season 1 left off.

Season 1 finished with a high-octane season finale. Jules was put to the ultimate test when Jeremy, the ex she had been trying to get over for the whole season, requested to rekindle their relationship. She finally declined, proving how far she had progressed from the season’s beginning. Jules also causes a commotion during Ramona’s wedding by disclosing Madison’s affair with Colin, who, as previously stated, is married to Jules’ boss. Stella, meantime, informs her that she has been accepted into a business school in Philadelphia, all the way across the country. The episode ended with Ramona’s bridesmaids leaving her wedding in her bridal truck.

For the most part, the season finished on a positive note for the characters. Jules demonstrated bravery by prioritizing her friends and current life above reuniting with Jeremy. Stella is eager to advance in her work, but she must first decide if she wants to leave her friends and life in California. Madison was forced to confront her affair and its implications, and she may now be ready to move on.

‘Dollface’s’ inspiration

Jordan Weiss, the author of Dollface, states that she came up with the series concept as a sample while working as a writing assistant. She stated that Dollface was inspired by her own personal experience. “I was in a relationship in college and fought to put myself out there with friends as much as I could,” she explained to Variety. “And that’s where the idea came from, coming out of that moment, coming out of a separation similar to the one in the show, and understanding that I wanted to invest more time in my friendships.”

Jordan EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife that she understands all sides of the show’s fundamental problem concerning where friends stand in comparison to a significant other. “I absolutely think I’ve been a Jules, but I’ve also been a Madison.” “I feel, especially throughout my college years, I could’ve put myself out there more in female friendships, and I think I would’ve been a bit overwhelmed and just closed myself off,” she remarked at the PaleyFest event for the show.

How to Stream ‘Dollface’

Dollface is exclusively available on Hulu’s streaming service. Season 1 premiered in November of this year, and all ten episodes are now accessible to watch online. Unlike network shows, which air episodes at different times each week, all ten episodes of Season 2 will be aired on the same day, February 11. To watch the series, viewers will need a Hulu membership, which can be purchased as an ad-supported plan for $6.99/month or $69.99/year, an ad-free plan for $12.99/month, a Hulu plus Live TV plan with Disney+ and ESPN+ for $69.99/month, or an ad-free version of the prior plan for $75.99/month.
