Man Accused of Murdering Girlfriend's Brother in Chenango (1)

In Chenango, a man is accused of murdering his girlfriend’s brother.

A man is suspected of fatally stabbing his girlfriend’s brother following an earlier disagreement with the lady, according to Broome County Sheriff’s authorities.

At about 6:40 p.m. on January 14, Sheriff’s Deputies were summoned to an apartment complex at 9 Kattelvelle Road in Chenango Bridge, in the Town of Chenango, where they discovered Crishtian Smith-Bartlett, 20, on his knees in the parking lot with his hands in the air.

Randy Glezen, 29, of Lisle, was arrested in the back of a police vehicle, and Deputies rushed inside an apartment to find him lying in the kitchen with several knife wounds and a neighbor administering CPR.

Until emergency teams came, a deputy took up the cardio-pulmonary resuscitation attempts from the uninvolved neighbor. Despite his attempts, Glezen succumbed to his injuries.

Smith-Bartlett had been fighting with Glezen’s 27-year-old sister, who lives in the flat with her 2-year-old daughter, earlier in the day, according to investigators. After hearing about the fight, Glezen and another relative went to the flat.

Authorities claim that during the altercation between Glezen and Smith-Bartlett, the suspect was armed with a machete and struck Glezen with it. Investigators say Smith-Bartlett resorted to a big kitchen knife after losing control of the machete and stabbed the Lisle man numerous times in the abdomen and back. Glezen’s sister also had an arm injury.

Smith-Bartlett was arrested and charged with felony murder and assault in the second degree and was sent to the Broome County Jail to await arraignment.
