Behind-the-Scenes Photos From Katy Perry’s ‘When I’m Gone’ Video Shoot

“When I’m Gone,” Katy Perry wants to leave you with something to remember her by. As a result, the singer shared some behind-the-scenes photos from her video shoot with DJ/producer Alesso for her new dance-tastic tune. Perry opens the set of photos with a daring topless shot in which she’s just wearing wide-leg jeans and a knowing over-the-shoulder glance as she stands facing a wall with her hands up next to a sign that says “do not hose down.”

Perry, 37, captioned the series with the hashtag #WIG and the phrase “Let it Burn Baby.”

Perry drinks a crimson drink from a plastic cup while rocking her chain-mail appearance in another photo, then glances down into the camera while grabbing a clump of hair with an overflowing costume rack behind her. Perry is accompanied by her hair and make-up crew as she showcases the red lace-up bustier and black slacks pair from the “When I’m Gone” video as the carousel comes to a close.

“When I’m Gone” debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart, as well as No. 17 on Billboard’s multi-metric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

The “WIG” video, in which Perry cycles through more than a half-dozen ensembles, premiered at halftime of the 2002 College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night. Perry paid homage to fiancé Orlando Bloom’s kind heart in a touching Instagram picture on his 45th birthday on Wednesday. Perry wrote with a slideshow of photos of her longtime boyfriend, “Happiest 45th to the kindest, deepest, most soulful, gorgeous & powerful guy I know.” “Thank you for being a steady compass, a steadfast anchor, and bringing joy to every place you enter.”
