Brockhampton Going on ‘indefinite Hiatus’ Following Coachella Performance

Following their Coachella performance, Brockhampton is taking an “indefinite sabbatical.”

Brockhampton, who have been together for more than ten years, has declared an “indefinite break” following their forthcoming Coachella performance, according to the group’s Twitter account.

Brockhampton will perform at the O2 Academy Brixton in London next month in addition to Coachella. According to Friday’s statement, all other Brockhampton tour dates have been canceled.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for joining us on this journey. We would not be here if it weren’t for the generosity of our supporters. We hope we’ve inspired you as much as you’ve inspired us over the last eight years.” “We will be eternally grateful and bound to you,” Brockhampton said.

According to Billboard, Kevin Abstract, a member of the hip-hop group, earlier hinted at the group’s disbandment, tweeting in March 2021 that Brockhampton will not be releasing music for much longer.

Brockhampton began in 2010 as AliveSinceForever in San Marcos, Texas. The band’s name was changed to Brockhampton in 2014.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the group, which consists mostly of seven members, released three studio albums in 2017 before negotiating a label agreement with RCA. Brockhampton released three albums after signing the deal: “Iridescence” in 2018, “Ginger” in 2019, and “Roadrunner: New Light, New Machine” in 2021.”

The band’s single “Sugar” reached No. 66 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2020, making it the band’s only appearance on the chart.
