17-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead in Plateau-Mont-Royal (1)

In Plateau-Mont-Royal, a 17-year-old teenager was shot and killed.

After being shot Thursday evening in the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood of Montreal, a 17-year-old teen died in hospital.

Around 6:50 p.m. Thursday, gunfire was reported at the corner of Roy and Rivard streets, according to police.
The victim was discovered in severe condition and was brought to the hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

According to police, one or more suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

Police are still questioning witnesses, and the canine unit is cooperating with the investigation. This is the first homicide on Montreal’s island in 2022.
