After a two-vehicle incident on State Route 1 on Monday morning, a lady either fell or leaped down a cliff, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A Toyota Tundra was hit by a Honda Accord while driving north on State Route 1 south of upper Swanton Road around 9 a.m.
The driver, a 40-year-old Santa Cruz lady, got out of her car on the roadside, crossed the highway, and went towards the cliff.
The lady was eventually found by a Coast Guard helicopter.
The event will be investigated by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office and CHP. The death has not been ruled out due to drinking or drugs, according to police.
