1 Dead, 2 in Critical Condition After Head-On Collision in East Texas

After a head-on accident in East Texas, one person has died, and two others were critically injured.

(CSU) CARTHAGE, Texas – After a head-on accident in East Texas on Wednesday morning, a Louisiana man was no more, and two Texans were seriously injured.

Aaron Allen, 31, of Pineville, Louisiana, was travelling westbound in a 2001 Chevrolet Corvette on U.S. Highway 79 at 8:45 a.m., according to a DPS report. The accident happened about two miles west of Carthage.

In severe fog, Allen overtook a car on the two-lane road and collided head-on with a 2012 Ford F-250 travelling in the other direction. According to the investigation, there was considerable fog on the roadway at the time of the accident.

Allen was declared dead on the spot. Dale W. Eldredge, a 74-year-old Gary, Texas resident, was the driver of the Ford. Amanda Duckworth, a 61-year-old Gary native, was his passenger. They were both sent to a Henderson hospital in severe condition.

The accident is still being investigated.

  1. I was in that accident and severely injured and will have a long road to recovery. My friend Amanda (we were on our way to a doctors appointment) has both feet shattered and a much longer road to recovery. I won’t even mention the Financial losses we will both have. Prayers are requested for both of us and the family of Aaron Allen.
