1 Dead, Another Injured in I-279 Crash in Ross

In a crash on I-279 in Ross, one person was killed, and another was injured.

A man was killed, and another was injured in a crash on the Parkway North in Ross early Monday.

David P. Rennebeck, 67, of Pittsburgh, died as a result of injuries sustained in a two-car collision in the northbound lanes of I-279, according to state police.

Rennebeck was driving a vehicle around mile marker 7.4 when it collided with an empty automobile that was partly obstructing the right lane of the highway.
Rennebeck’s automobile then hit a tree and came to a stop more than 200 feet away, according to police. Ross West View Emergency Medical Services had to cut Rennebeck from the vehicle because he was pinned in the driver’s seat. He died at Allegheny General Hospital on Pittsburgh’s North Side some hours later, according to authorities.

Rennebeck’s passenger was sent to Allegheny General Hospital with an unspecified injury.

The driver of the automobile that Rennebeck hit, Lenny M. Dunnivan, 29, had hit a guard wire and proceeded over two lanes of traffic before coming to a stop, according to police. As of late Tuesday morning, Dunnivan had not been charged with any crime.
