Lincoln Park Shooting Sunday Leaves 16-Year-Old Dead

A 16-year-old guy was killed in a gunshot at Lincoln Park on Sunday afternoon, according to a public official. The incident is said to have occurred at a Lincoln Park home. It is unknown if the perpetrator of the shooting has been apprehended.

Kirzan said further information would not be released until the Lincoln Park Police Department completed its investigation. A request for details regarding the incident was not immediately returned by the police department.

Kirzan said that approximately a month before, another deadly shooting happened in Lincoln Park, which he believes originated in Detroit and crossed into Lincoln Park. According to the News-Herald, a 41-year-old man, who investigators suspect was a Detroit resident, was fatally shot on Nov. 15.

The gunshot happened between Howard Avenue and Lafayette Boulevard on University Avenue.
