SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CSU)– Recently, there has been an increase in car thefts and burglaries. Crime Stoppers warns people to be careful.
Police say that because of the cold weather, cars are easy targets for criminals. They can steal them when people leave them running in driveways and at gas stations.
The police say you should turn off your car and lock it. If you need to warm up your car, use the remote start feature. Don’t leave the keys in the car when it is running because someone may steal them.
If you see anything that’s wrong, call the Crime Stoppers. You can do it anonymously or not. And you can use our website or the app on any phone.
