A 13-year-old boy died in a shooting near an elementary school yesterday. A 9-year-old girl and woman were also wounded. Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Mike Lopez told CSU News that a woman and teenager were together when they met up with some men. One of the men pulled out a gun and shot them both.
Police were called to the scene near Wilmington Park Elementary School. 2 people were hurt and taken to a hospital. The boy died of his injuries. The woman’s condition is unknown.
The police said that a 9-year-old girl near the shooting was wounded. They did not say if she was ok. When we spoke to the Daily Breeze, we found out that a girl was on a playground, and she was doing an afterschool program. We do not know if this story is true or not.
Gonzalez said she looked like a stray bullet hit her. Authorities still do not know the name of the boy who was killed or the woman and girl who were injured.
The police also haven’t released any details about suspects. They don’t know the motive for the death. A shooting happened. The person who did the shooting was not caught. Janice Hahn said, “Gun violence has destroyed too many lives in this country.”
“I am praying for this little boy’s family and for the recovery of the girl and young woman,” Hahn said in a statement.
