Two Dead, One in Hospital After Stabbings at Duanesburg Residence

DUANESBURG, NY (CSU) — State Police said that two people died, and one went to the hospital last night. They were responding to an incident at a Duanesburg home.

At about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday night, the police and the Sheriff’s Office went to a home after someone called saying they had stabbed their family. The person who called is named Nelson D. Patino and was taken into custody.

After the police arrived, they found three people with stab wounds. A five-year-old boy died at the scene. His mother was taken to Albany Medical Center and later died because of her injuries. The police also took a two-year-old boy to the hospital. He is now in stable condition. Their names are being withheld because their family has not been notified yet.

A man named Patino was taken to a different hospital for injuries he caused himself. He was treated and then released. The State Police said that he was arrested again and now he will have another court date. He is accused of two counts of murder in the second degree and also criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

A press conference will happen, but the time has not been set.
