Husband, Wife Killed in McCandless Shooting

Husband, Wife Killed in McCandless Shooting

A husband and wife died of gunshots Wednesday morning. They were outside of a house in McCandless.

The woman who died was Molly Beardsley. She was 25 years old and lived in Allison Park. The Allegheny County authorities said she killed herself.

Ms. Beardsley’s husband has not yet been released as of Thursday. No one else was in the shooting, and there was no danger to this community.

Police Lt. Venerando Costa said Wednesday that they could not tell if the shooting was a murder-suicide or not at this time.

Police said there was a 911 call where someone wasn’t breathing behind a dumpster in the parking lot in the 700 block of Duncan Avenue. There was a shooting in this area.

When the police came, a man was already dead. He died from a gunshot wound. The woman who was also shot in the head is very sick, and she died before 10:00 am.

The police said neither the man nor Ms. Beardsley lived in the apartment building. We don’t know why they were there. The apartment building is near McCandless Crossing shopping center, which is behind it.
