Akron Police Investigating Robberies at 2 Dollar Stores

AKRON, Ohio — Two stores were targeted by robbers, and they did the same thing in each store. Police say that they don’t think the two incidents are connected.

On Monday at 10 a.m., police were called to the Family Dollar on the 600 block of North Howard Street in the North Hill neighborhood. A man came into the store. He passed a note that said he wanted money. The clerk said that this man also said he had a gun, but no weapon was actually seen.

A man tried to steal something from a store and then ran away. He was last seen going north on North Howard Street. He is described as being thin, wearing glasses, a purple sweatshirt, jeans, white shoes, and a white hat.

The police went to a dollar store in South Akron on Friday night. The clerk told them that someone had come in, gave them a note, and said they were armed. They ordered the employee to take all the money from the register and give it to them.

A man stole money and ran away. He is 25-30 years old and about 5-foot-8.
