2 men and a woman have been charged because a girl died 25 years ago. The girl was 14 when she died. Caroline Glachan died in 1996. Her body was found on the banks of a river near West Dunbartonshire. She had a lot of injuries to her head, and she drowned. But there have been no people who were convicted in connection with her murder.

The police in Scotland have arrested and charged two men and one woman in connection with the death of a 14-year-old person. This man is a detective, and he said that we should thank people who helped him with the investigation and those who told important things about Caroline’s death.

All three people are going to appear in the Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Thursday, November 25, 2021.

It’s been five years since the case was reopened, and an appeal for anyone with information was made on the 21st anniversary of her death. Caroline’s mom said, “I am just waiting for that knock on the door telling me there has been a breakthrough.”

I often think about that scenario and imagine what it would be like. The cold case team will look at it with new eyes and start from the beginning.

Caroline was last seen alive at 12.15 am on August 24, 1996. She was going to meet her boyfriend in Renton, but she had spent the evening with friends first.

She took a shortcut from the shops along with Dillichip Loan towards The Towpath and the Black Bridge.

The girl’s school failed to get her home. Then she was found the next morning in the river.

The three people that got charged with her death will be in front of a judge today.
