Albertville Woman Charged With Murdering Woman Found in Ditch, $1M Bail Set (1)

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (CSU) — Police charged a woman with murder because they found a dead woman near her crashed car.

Police say a person named Leslie Kay Sims, who is 39 years old, killed a woman named Jana Miller Chatman on Tuesday, November 23. She was brought in for questioning because she looked suspicious.

On November 5, officers were called to a car wreck on Dixie Dale Road. The vehicle was in the ditch, and there was a woman dead outside of it. There were bullet casings at the scene too.

Authorities have confirmed that the victim is 32-year-old Jana Miller Chatman of Douglas.

The police said that the man confessed to being involved in the killing.

Sims killed someone, and the police took him to jail. They are trying to find out why he did it.

The woman’s bond was set at $1 million Wednesday afternoon.
