Death of Inmate in Chelan County Jail Under Investigation

This month, one of the inmates in the jail died. The police are investigating it. The Wenatchee Police Department said today that a person with the name of “Joseph A. Verville, 38 of East Wenatchee” died last week. The person was being held at the jail on an outstanding warrant.

He was first booked into jail on September 5. This happened after he was detained by the police in Wenatchee. Verville was being held in a single holding cell. The room had video surveillance.

The cause of death is not clear. It might be a medical problem, but it might also be a crime. We are waiting for the results from the lab that will tell us more about what happened to this person.

The RiverCom call logs for Ballard Ambulance on September 7 show that they responded to a cardiac incident at the jail. This is a group of police officers from different places. The cops come from Chelan County, Douglas County, East Wenatchee Police Department, Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, and the Washington State Patrol.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of this incident.
