Teen Accused in Albuquerque Double Homicide Arrested in Denver

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (CSU) – A teen wanted for a double murder in Albuquerque is behind bars after being arrested in Denver. Sixteen-year-old Josef Toney is accused of the January murders of Aerial Mallam, 21, and Jessica Casaus Lucero, 31.

Toney also shot a man three times when he tried to escape from the apartment. The man survived his wounds.

The Albuquerque Police Department reports that Toney tried to take a vehicle, and while doing so, he also had a gunfight with another person. He was shot and survived. Then he ran away on foot.

Toney is accused of killing 2 people and robbing a store. He also hurt a child. He was trying to hide it by throwing away things he used to do the crime.
