Netflix’s Squid Game will return for season 2. The writer/director, Hwang Dong-hyuk, confirmed this to the AP in an interview.
This is the first time that Hwang Dong-hyuk has said that Squid Game Season 2 is definitely happening. The AP interviewed him. Here’s what he said:
“So there has been a lot of pressure from people to make a second season. I feel like we have no choice! But I will say that there will be a second season. It is in my head right now. I am in the process of planning it right now. But it is too early to say when or how that might happen.”
Hwang Dong-hyuk has talked about a second season before. Here’s what he said before: “I’d need help this time. In the past, he wrote and directed every episode of Squid Game.
I am not sure what I will do for the second “Squid Game.” It is tough to think about it because I am tired.
The show’s creator later talked about a new idea for the second season. He said that he was going to focus on the police department and use the Frontman as a focus.

“I want to make a show about the Frontman. I know it is not just an issue in Korea. It is also an issue in other countries. I want to talk about this more, but maybe next season, if we get one.”
Hwang Dong-hyuk, who has made Squid Game for Netflix, said that he would not be rich like the people on the show. His contract did not come with a performance bonus. But because his TV series has been so successful, he should be able to negotiate a better deal when making season two.
This is the first time that it has been confirmed that Gi-Hun is returning to the show. You know this because if you watched the end of the show, you would have seen him. And it seems likely he will also come back with his brother.
As far as a timeline, I expect it to take longer than one year to get Squid Game season 2. The creator is just thinking about the season now, so it may take 18 months or two years. I don’t know when it will come out, but when it does, people will like it.
