Police Find Crown Point Man Dead After Responding to Burglary Report

A Crown Point man died late Saturday night. Police were called to the house because someone was breaking in.

Randy Kazlauskas, 41, died at the place where the crime happened. The police commander said this and the coroner’s office also agreed.

A Gary police officer was called to the 4400 block of Washington Street. He arrived and saw a car go by quickly. The officer tried to chase the vehicle, but could no longer see it. Kazlauskas was found lying dead on the sidewalk. It looked like he had been shot.
