Dassel Couple Charged with Multiple Tax Crimes (1)

The Meeker County Attorney charged Kyle David Ackerman and his wife with multiple tax crimes.

Kyle was charged with one felony count of each of these:

  • failing to file withholding tax returns,
  • failing to remit income tax withholdings to the Minnesota Department of Revenue,
  • failing to pay corporate franchise tax, and
  • failing to file W2 forms.
  • failing to file corporate franchise tax returns,

Kyle and Sharilee were Every charged with one felony count of not filing individual income tax returns and one felony count of not paying income tax.

The complaints state that Kyle is the executive of a company that provides internet. He knowingly did not file tax returns for multiple quarters from 2017 through 2020 and did not give money to the government when working for his company.

The complaints say that Kyle failed to file corporate franchise tax returns and paid too much in taxes. Also, Kyle and Sharilee didn’t pay their taxes for the years 2015 through 2019.

Each tax-related felony charge can lead to a term of up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.
