When “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” comes back on Disney+ for its second season, the original star from the movie won’t be in it. Emilio Estevez played the coach of the team in the movie. He came back for other movies, and then he came back to play the coach again in Season 1 of “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers,” which aired on March 2021.
This is the new show that everyone likes. It is about a team called the Don’t Bother who are not as good as other teams. But they win anyway because one person got cut from the Mighty Ducks. The mom of one of their players also becomes their coach, and she gets help from Gordon Bombay, who used to be her coach when she was younger, but he quit coaching for Mighty Ducks years ago.
Even though he played an very important role in the first season of “Game Changers,” it looks like his future with this Disney+ series is in danger. Earlier this week, we found out that he’s not coming back for Season 2. But why?

Estevez disagreed with the COVID-19 vaccine.
Deadline said that Emilio Estevez and Disney’s ABC Signature could not come to an agreement because he refused COVID-19 vaccinations. As a result, they chose not to renew his contract. This was reportedly happening right as the production of “The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers” was preparing for its start in 2022, which could have led to pressure to get everything in place ahead of that time.
All people working in zone A have to be vaccinated. This means that the show “Game Changers” falls under zone A. Sources close to the actor said there were creative differences with him leaving. Deadline also said he declined to comment on why he wasn’t coming back on the show.
Coach Bombay will not be back because of the reasons. There is no information about how he will leave the show. In the last episode, he had rediscovered his passion for hockey and then gave them their old jerseys back and resurfaced an ice rink with their logo.
