Some changes were made to the filming of Season 6 of Outlander because of the pandemic and Caitriona Balfe’s pregnancy. This meant that they filmed it out of order.

Outlander usually films two episodes at a time. The directors will also be on board for two episodes because of the way things work.

Season 6 of Downton Abbey changed because of the pandemic. The episodes were not filmed in order. Caitriona Balfe’s scenes had to be filmed right away so she could get back home to Ireland.

Outlander Season 6 was filmed out of order to avoid a baby bump.

Films have been filmed with women who have been pregnant for a long time. Women get pregnant, and the film has to be done, no matter what.

Some TV shows will write pregnancies into the series. Angel did this to Charisma Carpenter when she was pregnant. Other shows don’t want the pregnancy to happen. They often do this because of what has already happened in the show. How I Met, Your Mother is one of these shows, for example.

Outlander couldn’t include Caitriona Balfe’s pregnancy in the story. In the books, Claire doesn’t have a baby yet, and it would be hard for people to follow what was going on. The show had to hide the pregnancy from us because of how Season 5 ended. The show was probably going to get a lot of drama about it.

During the New York Comic-Con in 2021, the cast talked about filming the fifth episode of season three before jumping to an episode later. They also had reshoots afterward.
