4 Takeaways From the Gabby Petito Special Report

Gabby Petito, a 22-year-old blogger, went on a long car trip with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. Gabby died. Her body was found in Wyoming two days after she went missing during the road trip.

Laundrie was seen on Sept. 13. His parents saw him, and he was last seen by them. He had disappeared before the body of Petito had been found, and they said that he might be a person of interest in her disappearance, so they began to search for him on Sept. 17. Laundrie died on Oct. 20, and his body was found near his home.

While looking at the last days of Petito, CSU World Record’s Cris was surprised by how few people wanted to say anything about Petito or the case.

Here are four things you should know from the CSU World Record special report:

The investigators followed the tips and found other bodies.

When the public heard about Gabby Petito’s disappearance, many people on social media started to communicate. They shared their knowledge and combined it with other people’s to find clues. This also happened in other cases too.

Police officers received tips about two people. The tips led them to find the bodies of other people who had disappeared.

Sara Bayard, who had been Vanished since July, was found in Colorado. She had been in an area where people posted Instagram photos about Petito and Laundrie.

In Teton County, Wyoming, where Petito’s body was found, they also found the body of Robert “Bob” Lowery. He went missing in August.

The police only got a video of Petito and Laundrie on the body cam, not any other video.

Police in Moab, Utah, said they were unable to find any other footage of Laundrie and Petito. They only found the video from the officers’ bodycams on Aug. 12.

A member of the police saw a van reported in the 911 call. There was no video of it, but they did see Moab police respond to reports of an alleged physical interaction between these two people.

Hourlong footage from the investigation shows officers responding to the call with Petito crying, saying that the couple had had arguments. The couple had been traveling for 4 to 5 months, which increased their arguments.

The police told the couple to spend the night apart. But they don’t think that Petito was violent. The police are waiting for an independent review to find out if their investigation was done correctly.

A dispute was brought to the Wyoming restaurant between Laundrie and Petito. Witnesses claimed they saw a fight break out, but there is no evidence of that.

Witnesses said they saw a fight between Petito and Laundrie in Jackson, Wyoming, at the Merry Piglets restaurant on Aug. 27. One eyewitness watched what she Description as a “full-blown incident” between the couple.

The people left abruptly, and the man was standing outside crying. He walked back in, and he screamed at the waitress, then he walked out. After that, he came back four more times to talk to the manager about what happened with the hostess.

A restaurant that the couple went to also said they saw them. They were in contact with the police.

However, Cris spoke with the manager of the restaurant off-camera, who said that this incident was not what everyone said.

That manager who didn’t want to be on camera said that there was no loud, no one got angry, no fit was thrown. The server followed the people outside, but they paid for their meal. The person was calm.

Laundrie and Petito went back inside the restaurant together. Laundrie asked for her money back because she wasn’t feeling well. But the manager said they would not give the money back. So, Laundrie and Petito left. The restaurant deleted their video of what happened in the restaurant when Laundrie talked to them about getting her money back.

This happened on Aug. 27. It was the day when Petito’s mother got an odd text message from her daughter. That was the last time she contacted her family again.

4 days after the incident at the Merry Piglets restaurant, Laundrie went home by themselves. People keep leaving stones and crosses in memory of a girl near the Grand Teton National Park. Her dad left across, and others have followed.
