Tyler was originally supposed to be just an extra on “Friends,” but his unique spirit got him promoted to the main character, co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane said in a tribute on Sunday. Tyler was genuinely kind and sweet, they said.

In “Friends,” Tyler played Gunther. He was in love with Rachel. And he appeared in other TV movies and shows, too. In May 2021, the actor from Friends appeared in a video link at a reunion. He did not go to the reunion because he didn’t want to be a downer. The actor had enjoyed seeing his friends again and sharing memories with them.
