'Chicago P.D.' Makes Big Change Behind the Scenes

Chicago P.D. is changing behind the scenes, but it will still have the same actors and people that are on it now. The people who are behind the show are changing their jobs to be on another show instead. Gwen Sigan will be taking over for Rick Eid as showrunner of Chicago P.D., and Sigan has a new job at Universal Television because she signed an overall deal with Universal TV that produces Chicago P.D.

Sigan will be the executive producer of a new show. She will work with other people to make it happen. The other people are Dick Wolf, Derek Haas, Arthur Forney, Peter Jankowski, and Eid, who will also work on Chicago P.D. Sigan is the third female showrunner for a current Wolf Entertainment show, joining Diane Frolov and Ilene Chaiken, who work on Chicago Med and Law & Order: Organized Crime respectively.⤴️

Sigan is repped by ICM Partners. She has worked with Wolf Entertainment for over ten years. Sigan first became the assistant desk of Matt Olmstead before becoming a writer at Wolf Entertainment during the currently airing ninth season. Gwen became the showrunner for a show. The author says she couldn’t have done it without Rick Eid’s help. She also has her own vision and talent. He wrote that Chicago P.D. is still in very good hands with Gwen as its showrunner👍

“We are excited to work with Gwen at Universal Television,” Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television, said in a statement. “Gwen has been doing a great job since starting on the show ‘Chicago P.D.’ We are happy that she is on our team and hope that this will be a long-lasting partnership.

The TV show is just four episodes into its ninth season. It will have its last season with Eid as the showrunner. The new season will look at “what it means to be a police officer in 2021.” There might be romance, and every character will find “a home”: either at work or with friends or family. New episodes of Chicago P.D. air on Wednesdays at 10 p.m., following Chicago Med and Chicago Fire on NBC.
