The Florida Department of Health in Collier County has said that they have found three cases of West Nile virus. The Department of Health has confirmed this.
In recent weeks, the weather has made it easier for mosquitoes to live. Now there are more infected mosquitoes around. The state Department of Public Health said that the risk was now medium in the city.
There is an advisory about a mosquito-borne virus. If someone gets infected, they can get sick.
The DPH says that people over the age of 50 are more likely to get a severe infection.
City and state officials want you to take precautions against the West Nile virus. They want people who live in a city or state not to be bitten by a mosquito infected with the virus.

Prevention:
To avoid bug bites, use insect repellent with DEET. Wear long pants, shoes, and clothes that cover your arms and legs.
The first Nile virus case was stated in 2021 on Sep.1.
Health officials said that the chance of the West Nile virus had been “slow to increase this year,” but then six more people got it last month.
